It is time to do Easter kids' crafts with my kiddos and friends as Easter approaches. After making finger puppets, which were a big hit, I tried Easter felt eggs. My kids enjoyed the felt Easter egg pattern and were proud of their Easter decorations. Happy Easter felt crafting with kids!
I always keep all the felt scraps from my felt patterns and felt banners hoping to use them one day. This fun Easter craft project is a lovely way to use up at least some of them :) The project is suitable for kids aged 4 years up. Kids spend up to 1 hour creating their Easter egg decoration. During my kids’ Easter decoration workshop, they did 2 eggs each before losing interest.

Felt scraps
Glue (for kids felt craft, I used Elmer’s Craft Bond Fabric and Paper Glue, UHU Craft Glue, and the Liquid silicon that I have from Mexico - I cannot find its equivalent in Europe; with parent’s assistance, the Hot Glue Gun Low Melt might also be an option)
Scissors (my favorite ones are KAI 5 1/2 inch embroidery scissors)
Fiskars hand punch 1/16" (optional, for making holes for embroidery)
Any suitable material you might find at home or like to have at home:
Ribbons
Felt scraps
Embroidery floss (DMC Embroidery Floss Pack) and embroidery needles
Markers
Pom Pom
Download and print the Easter felt egg template (from Materials & Supplies). Cut the Easter eggs from felt.
TIP: I cut two felt layers at the same time.
TIP: I had 3 Easter eggs ready for each child. They actually did 2 felt eggs each before losing interest. Use all your felt scraps and do different colors.
TIP: Older children may cut the Easter felt egg template themselves.
TIP: Learn more about How to cut felt from my post.
Gather all material that could be useful for the Easter eggs kids’ craft.
TIPS: I searched at home and found small ribbon pieces, small felt craps, embroidery floss pieces. I have even found foam hearts and stars.
Prepare all the material, including scissors and glue.
TIPS: I placed everything in various bowls.
Gather your kids and explain what to do :)
I had 4 children making the Easter eggs (3 of mine and a friend). I showed them how to make an easy felt Easter egg. This time, it was easier for them to know what to do as they have already done their own finger puppets.
Let your kids create their Easter eggs! My kids (aged 4-8) did almost everything by glue.
TIP: Older children (6 years old and up) can also hand-sew their design.
TIP: Use hand punch to make holes for embroidery
TIP: Learn more about hand embroidery stitches for felt in my post.
String a ribbon on top of the Easter felt egg so you can hang the lovely craft.
