What Do You Need to Make Felt Heart Finger Puppet?

• Felt Heart Finger Puppet Free Template & Felt Heart Softie Free Template - to download the file, subscribe to the FunClothCrafts newsletter. In the newsletter, you find a password to the subscriber's Free Downloads Vault

• Cricut Design Space SVG pattern - Felt Heart Finger Puppet & Softie

• Felt sheet (find great felt at Benzie Design or find more buying options in the Types of Felt section of How to Sew Felt blog post) - white, red or any color of your choice

• Scissors (my favorite ones are KAI 5 1/2 inch embroidery scissors or KAI 6 1/3 inch patchwork scissors)

• Embroidery floss - white, black and in the color of felt (try DMC embroidery floss)

• Embroidery needle - Clover Embroidery needle size 3-9

How to Make DIY Felt Heart Finger Puppet

1. Download and print the free template Felt Heart Finger Puppet PDF.  

2. Cut all the eyes and hearts felt shapes from felt. You can choose any color you want and have available.

3. Embroider the eyes with whip stitch and pupils with a french knot. Use the backstitch for the mouth. Follow the pattern for the placement.

4. Using a running stitch, sew the two hearts together. Ensure you leave enough opening at the bottom for the finger to pass through.

If you fill the heart puppet with fiberfill and close the opening, you can make this free felt pattern into a felt heart softie. Wouldn't it be cute?

And what about making a rainbow garland of felt hearts? Make six colorful rainbow felt heart softies (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, violet) and string them into a rainbow hearts garland. This would be such an adorable DIY pride decoration.
